Here in Lunenburg, Vermont, folks have always valued the past. In each generation, families have taken care to safeguard the history that was important to them. Newspapers, letters, diaries, photographs, personal accounts, the articles of everyday life - all have been put away for safe keeping with an eye to the future.
To discover and preserve such material and make it accessible to all were the goals in 1977 of the newly incorporated Town of Lunenburg Historical Society. To that end, the Society over the years has amassed a large collection of historical documents
and artifacts, produced a book of town history, and worked toward restoring the Old Town Hall to serve as a repository of the community's history. Those efforts continue today.
